Joey supports KoreFusion's work across ASEAN and brings deep experience in mobile payments, financial inclusion, and emerging-market payment systems. He was a founder and Chief Architect of GCash at Globe Telecom in the Philippines, helping build one of the region's pioneering mobile-money platforms. He later served as Chief of Party for large-scale USAID payments programs in Afghanistan, Indonesia, and the Philippines, focused on cash-to-digital conversion and payment-system development.
Joey has extensive experience working with public, private, and regulatory stakeholders to design and accelerate adoption of innovative payment solutions. Based primarily in the Philippines, he also spends significant time in Indonesia and Singapore and is fluent in Tagalog and conversational in Bahasa Indonesia.
