Splitting her time between Lagos and London, and originally from Nigeria, Ifunanya brings deep experience across banking, merchant payments, mobile money, and fintech in Africa and Asia.
She began her career in financial services, working across retail, commercial and corporate banking at pan-African institutions, before joining Flutterwave as an early team member. She later worked with Interswitch Group and served as Strategy Director at OPay Digital Services in Hong Kong, supporting a Chinese-backed fintech focused on emerging markets in Africa and Southeast Asia.
Her expertise spans commercial and merchant payments, mobile money, real-time and emerging payments, and fintech partnerships. Ifunanya holds degrees from the University of Nigeria, the University of Warwick, and Hong Kong Baptist University.
